The clippers were supplied with a long cord as well, which makes it easy to move around a dog when you are grooming it. The clipper stayed quite cool when we used it and the unit is lightweight too. Although looks aren’t really an important factor in dog clippers, the Wahl KM5 does look nice and it comes in a choice of three colours.

Overall then, we liked the Wahl Professional Animal KM5 Clipper. It was smooth, quiet and it provided a good clean cut, which is just what you need from a professional standard dog hair clipper.

We think that putting both a Wahl full sized clipper and a smaller cordless version in the same pack is a great idea. It really does give you a complete dog grooming kit. The kit also contains a blade guard, cleaning brushes, clipper oil, a styling comb, guide combs and an instructional DVD.

Both clippers match up to the usual Wahl high standards. They are quiet, they run relatively cool and the vibration levels on both clippers were low. The large clippers are powerful and the blades are good quality. The small clippers are just the right size for a quick trim or for finishing off a full body cut. Wahl Pet-Pro Combo Kit would be the perfect choice for home grooming and, because you get all you need in one kit, it’s ideal for the first time dog groomer.
